Lot 511: A Victorian Style Two-Part Pine Corner Cupboard
A Victorian style corner cupboard constructed from solid pine with a natural finish. The unit is designed in two sections, comprising a tall upper cupboard and a smaller base unit. Each section features a door with four raised panels and a simple turned wooden knob, mounted on exposed metal hinges. The interior construction shows horizontal pine planking in a V-shaped corner configuration, with a central vertical shelf support. A multi-coloured festive paper liner with Christmas-themed motifs is applied to the interior base. A white adhesive label with the printed numeral 20 is located on the upper door and the lower frame, and a small orange rectangular adhesive sticker is present on the upper door panel.
Condition report:
The exterior displays signs of use consistent with age, including surface scratches, small indentations, and areas of uneven colouration to the pine finish (photo 1). The interior horizontal planking exhibits surface wear, staining, and loss of finish (photos 2 and 3). The paper liner is partially detached and shows creasing (photos 2 and 3).
