Lot 491: A Pair of Contemporary White Painted Bedside Cabinets
A pair of contemporary white-painted wooden bedside cabinets. Each unit is constructed with a single drawer positioned above a single-door cupboard. The design features a decorative pierced foliate scrollwork frieze set below the rectangular overhanging top. The corners are detailed with fluted pilasters, and the cupboard doors contain a recessed rectangular panel. Each cabinet is raised on four turned and tapered feet. The drawer and door are fitted with simple round white-painted wooden pull knobs, and the doors are hung on two exposed brass-finish butt hinges. An orange adhesive label is present on the top left corner of the right-hand cabinet, printed with the numerals 491. A corresponding unmarked orange adhesive label is located on the top left corner of the left-hand cabinet. No manufacturer’s marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The cabinets appear in good, clean condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural defects (photo 1). The white painted finish is consistent across both units.
