Lot 492: A white-painted chest of two short over two long drawers with pierced fretwork frieze
A contemporary white-painted chest of drawers in a traditional style, constructed from wood and composite materials. The unit is arranged in a two-over-two configuration, featuring two short drawers above two full-width long drawers. Decorative elements include a prominent pierced scrolling fretwork frieze located below the square-edged top surface and fluted pilasters at the front corners. The drawer fronts feature decorative moulding and each is fitted with white-painted round knobs. The chest stands on four turned bun feet. An orange rectangular adhesive label is present on the top right edge; no maker names, labels, or marks are readable on the piece.
Condition report:
Several dark scuff marks and smudges are visible on the flat panel between the top edge and the decorative fretwork (photo 1). Minor paint chips and rubbing are evident along the lower edges of the carcass and on the turned feet (photo 1). There are small dark specks and light surface soiling across the white finish (photo 1). An orange adhesive label remains attached to the top right corner (photo 1).
