An extensive collection of English stoneware table service items, produced by Royal Doulton within the Lambethware range and featuring the Wild Cherry pattern, design number LS 1038. The pieces are decorated with transfer-printed sprays of white cherry blossoms with red-dotted centres and foliage in shades of olive green and autumnal brown. The ceramic bodies are finished in a matte, speckled oatmeal-coloured glaze with dark brown glazed rims. The group includes a tall lidded coffee pot, a large lidded round casserole dish, several jugs of varying sizes, multiple mugs and cups, various bowls, and a quantity of dinner plates and side plates. The lids for the coffee pot and casserole dish are finished in a solid dark brown glaze. The base of the items bears a printed black mark containing the text LAMBETHWARE = followed by a logo of four interlocking loops, Royal Doulton, Wild Cherry, and L.S.1038. The mark also includes the text MADE IN ENGLAND and © 1975 ROYAL DOULTON (UK). An orange adhesive sticker reading 48 is visible on the red plastic storage crate containing the items.
