Lot 37: A large silver-toned electroplated ceramic figurine of a reclining panther
A large decorative figurine of a reclining panther, rendered in a stylized, graceful pose with the head turned to the left. The figurine is composed of a ceramic body finished with a highly reflective, silver-toned electroplated coating. The base of the piece shows the unglazed, light-toned ceramic material. The forehead of the animal bears two adhesive stickers: a white rectangular label with the handwritten number 17 and a small orange circular sticker. No other marks, stamps, or signatures are present on the figurine.
Condition report:
The figurine shows high reflectivity with some visible surface wear. There is a small patch of loss to the electroplated finish on the upper left shoulder (photo 1). Fine surface scratches and light scuffs are visible throughout the polished finish (photo 2). The adhesive stickers on the head (photo 1) represent a surface addition that may require cleaning upon removal. No cracks or chips to the ceramic body were observed.
