A wall mirror of oval form, featuring an ornate frame decorated in the Rococo revival style with scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and shell crests at the top and bottom. The frame is finished in a deep gold-toned gilding with darkened patination in the recesses. The central mirror plate is finished with a bevelled edge. An orange rectangular adhesive label is applied to the surface of the mirror glass towards the upper left. No manufacturer names or marks are visible on the front of the item.
Condition report:
The mirror plate displays visible silvering loss and foxing, particularly around the edges and in scattered spots across the surface (photo 1). The gilded frame shows general surface wear and accumulated dust consistent with age. There is an adhesive sticker on the glass surface (photo 1) which may leave residue upon removal.
