Lot 347: Two Art Deco Mottled Glass Lamp Shades
Two vintage art glass lamp shades featuring mottled decoration. The first shade is of bulbous melon-ribbed form, constructed from translucent white mould-blown glass with inclusions of orange, yellow, and magenta. It bears a white rectangular adhesive label printed with the number 25 and an orange rectangular adhesive label near the upper rim with characters that are not legible. The second shade is of geometric stepped form with a square base and a rounded ribbed top. The upper portion is decorated with orange and peach mottling, while the lower stepped section is white with grey clouded inclusions. This shade also bears a white rectangular adhesive label printed with the number 25. No signatures, etched marks, or maker names are visible.
Condition report:
The shades appear structurally sound with no visible cracks (photo 1). Surface dirt and dust are present on the glass. Fitter chips are not visible from the current angle, though the rims are partially obscured.
