Lot 345: A Pair of Cream Glazed Ceramic Decorative Objects comprising a Modernist Figurative Sculpture and a Branch Motif Vase
A pair of ceramic decorative items finished in a neutral cream-toned glaze. The first object is a modernist figurative sculpture of a stylised woman, featuring a wide-brimmed hat, a twisted torso, and slender proportions, set upon a square integrated pedestal base. The figure is finished in a smooth, glossy cream glaze. The second object is a large shouldered vase with a short neck, decorated with an all-over raised relief pattern of branching, coral-like forms. The vase is finished in a cream crackle glaze. Two adhesive labels are applied to the top of the figure’s hat: a white rectangular label printed with the number 17 and an orange rectangular label with 345 handwritten in ink. No other marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit surface crazing. The crazing on the vase appears to be a deliberate feature of the glaze, while the sculpture shows light surface crazing. No visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are evident from the provided view. Minor surface marks and dust are present.
