A trio of decorative items including a Heritage Irish Crystal mantel clock, a Chinoiserie lacquer box, and an abstract wood carving. The mantel clock features a case of cut lead crystal in a fan-shaped, stepped design. The circular white dial has black Roman numerals from I to XII and spindled black hands. The dial is printed with the word QUARTZ at the bottom centre and a gold emblem at the top centre. The clock is housed in its original green cardboard presentation box, which is printed in gold with a harp emblem and the characters HERITAGE IRISH CRYSTAL and MADE IN. A white paper label on the side of the box is printed with HER 1441-124 163H. The movement is powered by a quartz mechanism.
The rectangular lidded box is made of black lacquered wood. The lid is decorated with a gilt Chinoiserie scene depicting several figures in traditional attire within an outdoor landscape. Two small white adhesive labels are attached to the side, both printed with the numbers 19 19.
The third item is an abstract organic form carved from a single piece of highly polished, figured hardwood, possibly yew or a fruitwood burl, showing a rich and swirling grain pattern. Two adhesive labels are present on the front: an orange label printed with 24 and a white label printed with 19.
Condition report:
The crystal clock case shows no visible chips, cracks, or surface scratches (photo 1). The internal quartz movement is untested. The original presentation box for the clock exhibits surface wear, rubbing to the edges, and some minor losses to the paper covering (photo 1). The lacquer box shows significant rubbing and loss to the gilt decoration on the lid, particularly along the raised edges and the figures, consistent with age and use (photo 1). The wood carving appears in good condition with no visible splits or losses, retaining a high-gloss finish throughout (photo 1).
