A mixed lot of ceramic tableware and decorative items contained within a cardboard box. The collection includes a white ceramic commemorative plate featuring an ochre and brown transfer-printed design with a banner inscribed character by character G, U, I, L, D and two shields containing the years 1, 9, 7, 2 and 1, 9, 7, 9. A tall, cylindrical white-glazed vase features relief-moulded chrysanthemum decoration around the lower section. A large ovoid vase is finished in a high-gloss black glaze. A blue earthenware tea set comprises a small cup and saucer with white polka-dot slip decoration, displayed on a square blue-glazed tray. A small circular stoneware dish is decorated with a geometric mandala pattern in shades of ochre, green, and brown against a cream-speckled ground. A tall cream-coloured mug features a blue transfer-printed mythical dragon motif. The lot also contains a stack of various white and off-white plates and saucers. Accompanying the ceramics is a padded red and black textile carrying case bearing a white adhesive paper tag inscribed with the number 1, 4. No maker names are legible on the visible surfaces of the items.
Condition report:
The lot is in mixed condition. A large off-white plate situated on the right side of the box has a significant, full-width crack (photo 1). The remaining ceramic items appear generally intact, though they exhibit surface dust and light scratching consistent with a mixed storage lot (photo 1). The textile case shows minor surface lint (photo 1).
