Lot 163: Two vintage synthetic faux fur garments including a Wild Tags jacket
This lot comprises two vintage synthetic faux fur garments. The first is a sleeveless dark brown vest featuring a horizontal ridged or sheared texture to the pile. The interior is lined with a tan faux suede fabric. The construction includes a wide shawl-style collar and an open front, which can be secured at the neckline by a single black metal hook-and-eye closure. A small orange adhesive label reading 291 is attached to the right shoulder. No maker label is visible on this garment. The second item is a waist-length leopard print jacket in synthetic fur with a pattern of gold, tan, and black spots. The jacket is designed with full-length sleeves and a wide, flat collar. It features a tan satin-effect lining and a centre-front closure with a silver-toned metal zipper. A woven fabric label is stitched to the interior neckline reading Wild Tags in red script with Midlands printed below in black characters.
Condition report:
Both garments appear to be in good vintage condition. The dark brown vest shows no visible losses to the synthetic pile, though it exhibits the slight stiffness characteristic of vintage modacrylic fibres. The leopard print jacket shows minor matting to the fur pile at the collar and cuffs (photo 2) and the interior lining displays light signs of wear consistent with age.
