This lot comprises three silver-plated decorative table vessels with two pieces sharing a distinctive pumpkin-inspired aesthetic. The first item is a spherical lidded jar or sugar bowl featuring a vertically fluted body, surmounted by a matching domed lid with a small turned finial and elevated on a short pedestal foot. The second item is a coordinating taller lidded pot, possibly for hot water or coffee, sharing the same lobed pumpkin-form body and a hinged fluted lid with a finial; it features an S-scroll handle with dark-coloured insulating spacers and stands on a circular pedestal base. The third item is a two-handled oval basin with a plain polished exterior and a gilt-washed interior. A white adhesive label reading 7 is attached to the pedestal of the taller fluted pot and another white adhesive label reading 7 is attached to one handle of the oval basin. A small white label is also visible on the pumpkin-form jar. An orange adhesive tag is present on the handle of the taller pot, but the digits are not legible. No maker’s marks, silver hallmarks, or other identifying stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.
Condition report:
All three items exhibit significant surface tarnish and oxidation, with dark spotting particularly visible on the pumpkin-form lidded jar (photo 1). The exterior surfaces show fine hairline scratches and signs of wear consistent with age and regular use. The gilt-washed interior of the oval basin shows light discoloration and some thinning of the wash (photo 1). The insulating spacers on the handle of the taller pot appear intact but show surface wear. No major dents or structural repairs are visible in the provided image.
