A hardcover edition of British Birds in Their Haunts by the Rev. C.A. Johns, edited by J.A. Owen. The volume is bound in the publisher’s green cloth with decorative gilt-stamped lettering and illustrations. Condition report:
The binding shows significant wear consistent with age. There is fraying and loss of cloth at both the head and tail of the spine (photo 1, 2). A tear to the cloth is visible at the top edge of the spine joint (photo 1). The green cloth exhibits general surface wear, fading to the spine, and some light spotting and marking (photo 2). The corners of the boards are bumped (photo 1). The internal condition of the text block and the sixty-four plates has not been inspected. No dust jacket is present.
