Lot 698: Two Vintage Tennis Rackets by Slazenger and Head with Protective Covers
This lot comprises two vintage tennis rackets, each with a corresponding zippered protective cover. The first racket is a Slazenger Phantom model. It is housed within a full-length black zippered cover featuring the white Slazenger leaping cat logo and printed text reading Slazenger PHANTOM. The racket has a brown material grip with a small white adhesive label marked 10 10. The second item is a tennis racket by Head, accompanied by a black, blue, and white partial head cover. The racket throat features a black rectangular panel with a white stylized H logo, and the frame is finished in black with red pinstripe detailing. The grip is finished in a tan material with a small yellow adhesive label. Slazenger is a British manufacturer with a long historical association with the Wimbledon Championships.
Condition report:
Both rackets show clear signs of previous use and age. The grips on both rackets exhibit surface wear and degradation to the wrapping material. The protective covers show minor surface dust and light storage wear to the fabric and printed graphics. The frame of the Head racket shows light scuffing near the throat.
