Auction will begin to close in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A substantial early 20th century armchair of Jacobean Revival design, constructed from dark-stained oak. The chair features broad, flat armrests with rounded terminals, supported by significant bulbous cup-and-cover turned front posts. The sides are designed with five vertical square-section slats positioned beneath each armrest. The seat and backrest consist of padded sections upholstered in a dark brown leather or leatherette material. The frame is joined using mortise and tenon construction, visible at the junction of the arms and uprights. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are present on the wooden frame. A small white adhesive label is located on the upper surface of the right armrest.

Condition report:

The upholstery is in poor condition, exhibiting extensive cracking, peeling, and surface loss across both the seat and backrest. The oak frame shows age-related wear, including various scuffs, surface scratches, and thinning of the dark-stained finish, particularly on the contact points of the armrests and the lower legs. The piece remains structurally sound but requires complete reupholstery.
