Lot 552: A mid-20th century industrial two-drawer metal lateral filing cabinet
An industrial-style two-drawer metal lateral filing cabinet of one-piece construction. The unit features a brown-painted steel carcase with two wide, cream-painted drawers. Each drawer front is fitted with an integrated recessed finger-pull handle and a rectangular label holder. There are no legible maker’s marks or brand labels present on the exterior. Two small circular holes located adjacent to the lower drawer’s label holder indicate where a manufacturer’s nameplate was likely originally attached.
Condition report:
The cabinet is in used condition, showing signs of wear consistent with age and office or workshop use. There is visible surface dirt, scattered scuffs, and dark staining across both drawer fronts and the carcase. The paint finish exhibits wear along the edges and some minor surface oxidation is present in areas of paint loss. The unit would benefit from a thorough cleaning.
