Lot 5: A Cut Lead Crystal Rose Bowl
A spherical lead crystal rose bowl of heavy construction, featuring a deeply hand-cut geometric pattern. The decorative scheme consists of large hobstars or pinwheels enclosed within diamond-shaped panels, separated by vertical mitre cuts and areas of fine cross-hatching. The base is finished with a large, multi-pointed radiating star. The glass exhibits high clarity and refractive properties characteristic of quality lead crystal. Two small adhesive inventory labels are attached to the exterior: a white rectangular label printed with the numbers 14 14 and an orange rectangular label with the handwritten number 5. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The bowl is in good condition with the glass appearing bright and clear. There is no evidence of internal clouding or glass sickness. No significant chips or nibbles are visible to the rim or the delicate points of the cut pattern.
