Lot 302: Framed Cross-Stitch Needlework Picture Depicting Poppies and Wildflowers
This is a framed cross-stitch needlework picture depicting a wildflower meadow scene. The composition features vibrant red poppies, white daisies, and yellow stalks of grain set against a backdrop of green foliage and a light blue sky. The work is executed in multi-coloured threads on a light-coloured fabric ground. The piece is presented behind glass within a dark green card mount and a dark wood frame with a thin gold-tone inner slip. No artist signature or maker’s marks are visible on the front of the work. An orange sticker with the number 302 is present on the glass at the top right, and a small white label with the number 3 is on the bottom left corner of the frame.
Condition report:
The needlework is in good condition with no apparent staining, fading, or loose threads. The frame displays minor surface scuffs and wear consistent with age. The matting is clean and free from foxing.
