A pair of variant bindings for the title The Last Wolf by Mrs. Jerome Mercier. One volume is bound in cream-coloured stiff card wrappers and the other in green cloth-covered boards. Both volumes feature a central decorative circular border on the front cover containing the title text, with the author’s name printed vertically along the right-hand margin. These books are characteristic of Victorian juvenile or religious prize books produced in the late 19th century.
Condition report:
The cream volume shows significant wear including heavy fraying and material loss to the lower right corner, edge wear, and surface soiling with foxing. The green volume exhibits bumped corners, edge rubbing, and minor surface scuffing. Internal pages and bindings have not been inspected.
