A trio of vintage lidded kitchen canisters produced by Sadler. The earthenware jars are relief-moulded in the form of stylised cultural figures. One figure wears a wide-brimmed hat, another a skullcap with a central tassel and long moustache, and the third a conical hat with hands tucked into sleeves. The pieces are finished in monochromatic glazes of ochre, terracotta, and olive green. The ochre-glazed figure features the word COFFEE in relief on the reverse, while the terracotta-glazed figure features the word TEA. The olive green figure is the third in the set, traditionally intended for sugar. No factory marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The lid of the terracotta Tea canister has a significant chip to the interior rim. Fine crazing is visible across the glazed surfaces of all three canisters. General surface dust and minor shelf-wear are present.
