Lot 72: An Assortment of Ceramic Coffee and Hot Water Pots
An assortment of 19th and 20th-century ceramic coffee and hot water pots in various forms and decorative styles. The collection includes a tall tapering pot with a flared foot, finished in a cream and pale-yellow glaze with gilt banding to the rim and finial, featuring a curved swan-neck spout. Another pot is of white porcelain and cylindrical form, decorated with polychrome insects including butterflies and gilt-heightened rims, bearing a rectangular white label marked 7 7 to the lid. The assortment also features a cream-ground porcelain pot of tall, slightly waisted form, hand-painted with sprigs of yellow and orange flowers and butterflies, bearing an orange label marked 72 to the lid. A further white porcelain pot is decorated with polychrome floral bouquets and gilt rims, also bearing an orange label marked 72 to the lid. The final item is a white porcelain pot of lobed, baluster form, decorated with sprigs of white blossoms and green foliage. The pots are constructed from porcelain and fine earthenware, featuring a mix of hand-painted and transfer-printed decorations with gilt highlights.
Condition report:
Overall good vintage and antique condition. General light wear to the gilding is visible on handles and rims across the collection. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are immediately apparent. Minor surface marks and fine crazing may be present on the earthenware examples.
