Lot 574: Two Vintage Storage Items Comprising a Wooden Box and a Large Travel Case
Two vintage storage items comprising a rectangular wooden box and a large brown travel case. The wooden box is constructed from a dark-grained wood with a hinged lid and features a central oval brass escutcheon surrounding a keyhole. The larger item is a rectangular travel case or suitcase made from a dark brown textured material, likely vulcanised fibre. It is fitted with multiple metal toggle latches and retains remnants of leather strapping. Both items bear identification stickers including white labels marked 20 and an orange label marked 574.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age and use. The wooden box shows surface abrasions, scuffs to the wood, and oxidation to the brass hardware. The travel case displays surface scuffs, white residue or spotting to the exterior, and oxidation on the metal latches. The leather straps are heavily worn with significant losses.
