Lot 567: Late 19th Century Oak Jacobethan Revival Housekeepers Cupboard
A large Late Victorian or Early Edwardian oak housekeepers cupboard or library cabinet in the Jacobethan Revival style. The substantial carcass is constructed from solid oak with a dark stained finish. The frontal arrangement features a central vertical bank of four drawers, each fitted with turned wooden pulls, flanked by two large cupboard doors. Each door is constructed with two recessed fielded panels within heavy moulded surrounds. The unit is crowned with a deep, protruding moulded cornice and rests upon a corresponding moulded plinth base. The doors are fitted with simple circular brass escutcheons. Two temporary adhesive labels are present on the exterior panels.

Condition report:
The cupboard shows signs of age and use consistent with its period. There are scattered surface scratches, scuffs, and abrasions to the dark finish across the exterior. Minor bruising and small chips are visible on the moulded edges, particularly to the cornice and door frames. Accumulated dust is present in the crevices of the panels and mouldings. The piece appears structurally sound.
