JULY AUCTION

Lot 565: Early 20th Century Jacobean Revival Quartersawn Oak Library Table

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A Jacobean Revival style furniture piece, likely a library table or console, constructed from solid oak. The flat surfaces exhibit prominent quartersawn grain, often referred to as tiger oak. The structure features four turned legs in a baluster form, each embellished with a hand-carved band of geometric triangle motifs. The frame is assembled using traditional mortise and tenon or dowel construction. A small white adhesive label is affixed to an inner rail bearing the digits 20 20. A larger printed label is present in the upper corner but the text is not legible.

Condition report:

The piece shows signs of age-related wear and use, including surface scuffs and minor abrasions. There are multiple visible white paint splatters across the lower sections of the turned legs. The structural integrity appears sound with no visible evidence of major repair or woodworm.
