Lot 513: A Trio of Boxed DDR GST HandschuhPeter Specialist Shooting Gloves
A trio of original boxed pairs of specialist shooting gloves produced for the Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik (GST) in the German Democratic Republic (DDR). Manufactured by VEB Spezialhandschuh-Werk Glauchau under the brand name HandschuhPeter, these gloves were standard equipment for pre-military marksmanship training. The gloves are constructed from a dark olive green knitted textile and feature a specialized design with integrated loops on the fingers intended to hold .22 LR small-calibre ammunition for easy access during target practice. Each cardboard box is printed with a graphic illustration of the glove and the brand name HandschuhPeter, with the letters Handschuh in black and Peter in red. The packaging retains various period markings, including white adhesive stickers marked 4, an orange retail price sticker marked 5.13, and handwritten size designations on the side panels, including 6 1/2 and 7 1/2.
Condition report:
The gloves are in New Old Stock condition and remain within their original retail packaging. The boxes exhibit age-related yellowing of the cardstock, general shelf wear, and minor crushing to the corners and edges. There is a small tear visible on the side flap of the middle box.
