Lot 51: A Roberts RD-5 Digital Radio and a Sony CFM-20 Radio Cassette-Corder
This lot comprises two portable audio units. The first is a Roberts RD-5 digital radio. The unit features a cream-coloured plastic housing with a silver-toned top panel and grey textured side panels. The top control interface includes an LCD screen for station and track information, five numbered station preset buttons, and controls for band selection, auto tuning, and power. It is marked with the Roberts name embossed on the handle and printed logos for DAB Digital Audio Broadcasting and RDS Radio Data System. The second unit is a Sony model CFM-20 radio cassette-corder finished in silver plastic. It features an analogue slide rule dial for FM (88-106 MHz) and AM (540-1600 kHz) frequencies, a cassette compartment with mechanical piano-key controls for record, play, rewind, fast forward, stop/eject, and pause. It includes rotary knobs for volume and tuning, and a slide switch for function selection. A telescopic aerial is mounted to the rear. Both units are fitted with integrated power leads and UK three-pin plugs.
Condition report:
Both items are in good used condition with surface dust and minor scuffing to the plastic housings consistent with age. The telescopic aerial on the Sony unit appears intact. Both units are offered untested for working order.
