Lot 330: A Collection of Decorative Picture Frames and Framed Works on Paper
A collection of picture frames and framed artworks in diverse sizes and aesthetic styles. The group includes a large gilt-finished frame featuring ornate foliate and scrollwork moulding, within which a smaller silver-finished frame with decorative corner motifs is nested. Contained within a cardboard shipping box is a further assortment of frames, including examples in dark stained timber, black-lacquered finishes, and composite gilt designs. Several frames house works on paper, including prints or drawings of landscapes and architectural subjects, set behind glass with mounts. One framed item has multiple strips of cream-coloured masking tape applied to the glazing. The collection encompasses various decorative traditions, from traditional ornate styles to more contemporary designs. The side of the storage box is marked with the text DIRECT GLOBAL TRADING MOVING and a sticker numbered 14 14.
Condition report:
General wear consistent with storage and previous use throughout the collection. Observable surface dust, minor scuffs, and abrasions to the frame edges and surfaces. The ornate gilt frame exhibits light wear to the raised moulding. One glazed item has masking tape applied directly to the glass surface.
