Lot 304: Charles Garabed Atamian (1872-1947) 'Children Playing on the Beach' (Signed)
An impressionistic oil painting on board by the artist Charles Garabed Atamian (1872-1947). The work depicts a sunlit coastal scene with two children. In the foreground, a child stands in a blue swimsuit looking out towards the sea, while a second child is crouched in the background playing in the sand with a pink bucket. The composition is characterised by loose, gestural brushwork and a bright, sun-drenched palette typical of the artist’s beach scenes. The work is signed vertically ‘Atamian Chs’ in the lower right corner. It is housed in a dark-toned wooden frame featuring a gilded inner slip.

Condition report:
The protective glass is severely shattered across the lower portion of the frame, requiring immediate replacement. Two auction stickers are adhered to the exterior of the glazing. While the painting surface appears generally intact, there is a risk of surface abrasions from the broken glass shards. The frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
