Lot 276: A Vintage Tilley X246B Pressure Lamp Original Cardboard Box
An original vintage cardboard box for a Tilley pressure lantern, manufactured by The Tilley Lamp Company. The front of the box features a bold red graphic panel with TILLEY in white block lettering and the manufacturer’s owl trademark. Centrally featured is a black line illustration of a standard model pressure lamp, consistent with the X246B model, showing the fuel tank, pump assembly, burner, and bail handle. This packaging is a piece of mid-20th-century British industrial ephemera, frequently sought by collectors to complete lantern sets.
Condition report:
The box is in aged condition with visible foxing and yellowing across the cream-coloured cardboard surfaces. There are surface stains, minor edge wear, and signs of handling consistent with age and long-term storage. A small yellow adhesive label with the handwritten number 276 is adhered to the front face.
