Lot 165: A Collection of Tobacciana Including an Engine-Turned Cigarette Case and Butane Lighters
A collection of smokers’ accessories including a cigarette case and several butane lighters. The rectangular metal cigarette case features a repeating engine-turned geometric pattern to the exterior and a polished interior fitted with an elasticated retaining strap. The interior base plate is stamped with a maker’s mark consisting of a capital letter K within a diamond-shaped border. The assortment of lighters includes a two-tone matte silver and gold-tone model, a slim lighter with black and chrome-tone decorative panels, and a polished metal lighter engraved with the Gauloises Blondes advertising logo in cursive script. The Gauloises lighter is marked Made in China to the underside.
Condition report:
The items exhibit moderate signs of age and use throughout. Visible wear includes surface scratching, light tarnishing to the metal surfaces, and minor losses to the decorative finishes on the lighters. The internal elasticated strap of the cigarette case shows some loss of tension. The lighters are untested for functionality.
