Lot 166: A Godinger Silver Treasures Silver Plated and Glass Miniature Figural Bird Perfume Bottle Set
This set from the Silver Treasures collection by Godinger comprises decorative miniature figural perfume bottles designed in the form of birds. Each item consists of a silver plated metal filigree framework representing wings and a tail, supported on bird feet. The complete example features a clear moulded glass central body encased within the metal cage, topped with a removable silver plated bird head that serves as the stopper. These items were produced as decorative vanity accessories intended to be filled with fragrance by the user. The collection is housed in its original red velvet lined presentation box, featuring a white satin interior lid lining printed with the brand mark ST Silver Treasures by GODINGER.
Condition report:
The set is incomplete, containing one complete figural bottle and one partial metal framework; the glass body and head stopper for the second bird are missing. Both silver plated components exhibit significant tarnish, oxidation, and visible loss of plating across the surface, particularly within the recessed areas of the filigree. The glass body of the complete bottle is intact without visible chips or cracks. The presentation box shows external wear and contains non-original adhesive stickers on the interior velvet.
