Lot 152: A Collection of approximately 32 pieces of Mid-Century Modern Harlequin and Amber Lusterware Glassware
A large collection of mid-century modern decorative glassware comprising approximately 32 pieces. The lot features a varied assortment of stemware and drinking vessels, notably a harlequin set of six tall glasses with slender, curved tulip-shaped bowls in vibrant shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, emerald green, amber, smoky grey, and deep amethyst, all supported on clear stems.
Included in the collection is a group of amber lusterware, consisting of rounded wine or water glasses and smaller bulbous liqueur or sherry glasses with a metallic iridescent finish. The assortment further contains three small rounded amethyst-tinted glasses, two wine glasses featuring clear bowls on coloured stems in emerald green and pale pink, and a large cobalt blue hurricane-style glass. Several clear wine glasses in the collection exhibit a moulded foliate or radial starburst pattern to the lower section of the bowl.
The items do not bear visible manufacturer marks, etched signatures, or moulded brand names. Some pieces retain orange adhesive labels marked 152 and white labels marked 2.
Wine glasses: approx. 15cm to 20cm tall
Liqueur glasses: approx. 8cm to 12cm tall.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition with some pieces showing surface dust and signs of age-appropriate use. One glass on the far left exhibits an irregular rim which may indicate a small chip or a manufacturing flaw. The items have not been individually tested for minor chips, cracks, or flea bites to the rims and bases.
