Lot 10: A Pair of Neoclassical Style Cast Brass Candlesticks
A matching pair of cast brass candlesticks designed in the Georgian Neoclassical style. Each piece features a square, stepped base decorated with a beaded border. The stem rises from a square-section plinth into a baluster element and a central tapered column, terminating in a circular flared sconce. The items are constructed from solid cast brass and finished with a bright, polished surface that appears to be lacquered. The casting shows crisp definition, particularly on the beaded ornamentation. No maker marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Height: Approximately 20 cm – 25 cm.
Condition report:
The candlesticks are in good condition with no visible dents, cracks, or significant corrosion. The polished surfaces show minimal wear and retain a bright lustre. There is a small orange adhesive label attached to the rim of one sconce which can be removed.
