A large and heavy footed centrepiece bowl crafted from high-quality cut lead crystal. The piece is extensively decorated with deep-cut geometric motifs, featuring large multi-point hobstars, panels of fine diamond-cut cross-hatching, and fan-cut borders. The bowl incorporates two small integrated lug handles at the rim. It is supported by a square pedestal base adorned with diamond-cut panels and a large starburst cut to the underside. The clarity of the glass and the precision of the facets are characteristic of the American Brilliant Period, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. No etched manufacturer marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The crystal appears clear with no clouding or sick glass. No major chips, cracks, or restorations are evident. Minor flea bites to the sharp edges of the cutting may be present, which is typical for glass of this age. The item is currently fitted with an orange lot sticker and a white paper tag.
