This assortment consists of various ceramic items, primarily decorative plates and dishes from the late 19th and 20th centuries. A prominent piece is a square earthenware dish with clipped corners, featuring a transfer-printed Art Deco design attributed to the Crown Ducal Orange Tree pattern. This design includes stylized orange flowers with green foliage and navy blue corner medallions. The collection also includes a circular decorative plate decorated with a polychrome winter landscape transfer depicting a timber-framed building, a horse-drawn cart, and figures. Additional items comprise several floral transferware plates: one with a large multi-coloured garden scene, another with a yellow floral sprig pattern, and one with a dense green foliate border. Other forms include a plate with a pale green scalloped rim and a dark-ground plate with a gilded edge. The items appear to be a mix of glazed earthenware, ironstone, and porcelain. Decoration techniques include transfer-printing, hand-tinting, and gilding. No maker’s marks are visible from the overhead perspective, though several pieces bear temporary price and lot labels.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good used condition. Observable wear includes surface scratches to the glaze and some minor fading to the transfer-printed decorations, consistent with age and domestic use. No major chips or cracks are evident from the upper surfaces.
