An oak blanket chest or coffer constructed in the Jacobean revival style. The front is composed of two recessed rectangular panels, each featuring a central carved lozenge motif. The lid is secured by internal hinges and features turned ball finials to the rear corners. The front rail includes a single central keyhole. The piece is finished in a dark stain.
Condition report:
Wear to the finish is evident along the front edge of the top and the main carcass. Surface scuffs, scratches, and minor abrasions are present, consistent with age and functional use. There are scattered white spots, likely paint or plaster splatter, on the lower front section. One finial is missing from the front left corner. No key is present.
