Lot 234: Audrey North and P. Sturgess, 'Barn Owl' and 'Kingfisher' (Signed)
A pair of vintage foil art prints depicting British bird species. The first work portrays a Barn Owl perched upon a mossy stump, signed Audrey North to the lower left. The companion piece depicts a Common Kingfisher perched upon a branch above a body of water, signed and dated P. Sturgess 10/9/77 to the lower right. Both artworks are executed on a textured, metallic-effect substrate that provides an iridescent finish to the feathers and background elements. The pieces are housed in matching dark wood-effect frames with gilt inner slips.
Condition report:
The artworks and frames are in good overall condition. There are minor signs of surface dust and light wear to the frames, including small scuffs consistent with age and handling.
