A square-section Edwardian scent bottle manufactured from heavy lead crystal. The body is decorated with deep geometric mitre cuts, comprising starburst patterns to each face framed by diamond-cut cross-hatching and fan-shaped motifs at the shoulders. The piece features a sterling silver collar with embossed and pierced openwork detailing scroll and foliate designs. The silver mount bears hallmarks for Birmingham, 1915, including the maker’s mark A&JZ for the firm Arthur and John Zimmerman. The bottle retains its original large faceted crystal stopper of hexagonal form.
Condition report:
The crystal body is in good condition with clear light refraction. The stopper displays minor flea-bite nicks and very small chips along its faceted edges, consistent with age and use. The silver mount is structurally intact but exhibits a heavy dark patina of oxidation across the surface.
