A set of nesting tables in the Edwardian Sheraton Revival style, constructed from mahogany. The set comprises four tables of graduated sizes designed to slide beneath one another. The largest table features a rectangular top with a moulded edge above a frieze set with a central oval marquetry patera, depicting a foliate motif in a contrasting light-coloured wood inlay. Each table is supported by four slender, square-tapered legs with reeded detailing on the outer faces. The legs are connected by low-set stretchers at the sides and rear to facilitate nesting. The tables are finished in a rich reddish-brown tone. A small, illegible white adhesive label is present on the side rail of the largest table.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition with wear consistent with age and use. Observable defects include surface scratches, small nicks, and minor marks to the table tops and legs. There is some light scuffing to the feet. No structural damage or major repairs are evident.
