Lot 479: A Pair of French Provincial Style Two-Tier Scalloped Side Tables Attributed to Drexel Heritage
Attributed to the Drexel Heritage Cabernet Classics collection, this pair of mid-to-late 20th-century side or lamp tables is designed in the French Provincial Louis XV style. Crafted from a warm-toned wood, likely mahogany or cherry, each table features a two-tier configuration. The top and lower shelf are shaped with serpentine, scalloped edges and finished with a fine inlaid stringing border. The upper section of each table incorporates a single drawer, fitted with an ornate, cast-metal handle in a rococo style. The tables are supported by four slender cabriole legs that terminate in carved scroll feet. No maker’s marks or brand stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The tables appear to be in good overall condition, showing minor surface wear, light scratches, and small indentations consistent with age and domestic use. Small adhesive auction or price labels are present on the upper corners of the tops. The pieces appear structurally sound.
