Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This is an early 20th-century gateleg dining or side table in the Jacobean Revival style. The piece is constructed from quarter-sawn oak, characterised by the prominent medullary ray fleck or tiger stripe grain pattern visible on the top surface. The table features two drop leaves which, when extended, create an oval surface. The top is decorated with an incised foliate and scroll-work border. The base consists of barley-twist legs connected by rectangular stretchers, with two swinging gate legs to support the leaves. No permanent maker marks are present. Temporary auction labels are visible on the frame edge.

Condition report:

The table is in fair to good condition, showing signs of significant use and age. There are visible surface scratches, scuffs, and white impact marks, particularly on the drop leaf. The finish shows general wear and some fading. Dust is present within the carved areas. The structure appears sound.
