A tall chest of drawers constructed from stained hardwood solids and oak veneers with a warm reddish-brown finish. The design incorporates 17th-century English stylistic elements, in the style of mid-20th century manufacturers such as Wood Bros (Old Charm) or Jaycee. The chest features a four-drawer arrangement. The uppermost drawer is of extra depth, featuring a recessed panel with shaped, scalloped moulding and a central brass-toned drop handle. The second drawer is narrow, decorated with an incised central scroll motif and two small turned brass knobs. The lower two drawers are of standard depth, each fitted with a pair of brass-toned bail handles on shaped backplates. The carcass is raised on shaped bracket feet. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The chest is in good used condition with minor surface scratches and light wear consistent with age and use. There is visible scuffing and light scratching on the top surface.
