An Arts and Crafts style oak table-top book trough, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The piece is constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish. The design features two solid upright ends with angled tops, connected by a flat rectangular base and a single horizontal back rail. The entire unit is raised on two transverse wooden runner feet. The joinery is simple and robust, consistent with utilitarian domestic furniture of the period. There are no visible maker’s marks, stamps, or labels on the surfaces shown. Two small auction-related stickers are attached to the piece.
