Lot 272: A Collection of Vintage and Contemporary Novelty Salt and Pepper Shakers and Ceramic Figurines
An assortment of miscellaneous household collectibles and kitchenware comprising various items of ceramic, glass, and wood. Included are numerous novelty salt and pepper shakers featuring faceted clear glass examples with metal and plastic screw tops, miniature terracotta pots with white dot decoration, a green leaf-moulded shaker, and ceramic shakers with hand-painted floral and fruit motifs. Figurative items include a yellow glazed ceramic teddy bear on a heart-shaped base in the style of SylvaC, a black and white cow figurine, a red minimalist character figure, and a small multi-coloured character in blue, yellow, and green. The lot also contains two clear glass tumblers featuring transfer-printed cartoon characters, a small white ceramic cup with a red rim, elements of a white ceramic condiment set, a brown wooden architectural model section, and a dark wooden ring. A dealer’s handwritten price label is attached to one ceramic shaker. No manufacturer backstamps or marks are clearly visible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition consistent with age and previous use, showing some surface dust and minor surface wear throughout. A visible hairline crack is noted on the interior of the small white cup with the red rim. Potential for minor chips, glaze crazing, or rubbing to the painted and transfer-printed decorations across the collection.
