Lot 257d: A Collection of Vintage Wade Whimsies and Miniature Ceramic Figurines
A collection of vintage glazed ceramic figurines, including examples from the Wade Whimsies Nursery Rhyme and animal series. The group features a figure of Little Tommy Tucker, a monk in a brown habit, and a reclining female figure. Animal subjects include a cat playing with a blue ball of yarn, a white lamb, and a blue-glazed creature. Also included is a yellow bird-like figurine and a separate circular wooden base. One figurine base is incised with the characters TOMMY TUCKER. The wooden base retains a blue circular paper label with the text MADE AND HAND PAINTED IN SCOTLAND and IONA.
Condition report:
The collection is housed loose in a cardboard box with tissue paper. All items exhibit general surface wear and signs of handling consistent with age. One figurine is currently detached from the included wooden base. There is the potential for minor chips or nibbles to the glaze on some of the smaller pieces.
