Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a trio of East Asian silk embroidery panels depicting traditional bird and flower (kachō-ga) motifs, likely produced for the export market in the mid-20th century. The first panel is rectangular and features two blue and white birds perched on chrysanthemum branches against a metallic gold-toned silk ground. It includes a vertical inscription of four characters to the right, 富貴風流, followed by a smaller, illegible signature or seal. The second panel is vertical and depicts two red-crowned cranes, one perched in a gnarled pine tree and the other standing near pink and red peonies on a cream fabric ground. An inscription in a cursive script is located at the lower left. The third panel is horizontal and features a Mandarin duck amongst stylized blue and white foliage on a patterned light blue ground with gold floral highlights. Each piece utilizes varying silk thread embroidery stitches to provide texture to the plumage and petals. The panels are housed in gilt and wooden frames under glass, with the crane and duck panels featuring matching frames and mounts.

Condition report:

All three panels appear to be in good condition with vibrant colours and no visible evidence of staining, fading, or thread loss. The frames show minor surface wear consistent with age. All items are securely housed under glass.
