A rectangular sterling silver box of Malaysian origin, featuring repoussé floral and foliate scrollwork across the exterior surfaces and a central embossed Malaysian coat of arms on the lid. The underside of the box is stamped with the marks 925 and MALAYSIA. The interior is wood-lined and contains an assortment of items, including several brass-toned mouth harps, a metal Allen key, and a gold-coloured nameplate for Tony Unsworth, Past President of the Rotary Club of Barrow-in-Furness. The lot is accompanied by a handwritten cash sale receipt from Mohd. Salleh and Sons, Kelantan (Malay) Silvercraft, dated 13 April 1967, which lists silver serving pieces including a jam spoon and pickle fork.
Condition report:
The silver box displays surface tarnishing and wear consistent with age and handling. Two adhesive auction stickers are present on the lid. The wood-lined interior shows minor scuffing but remains intact. The included mouth harps and nameplate show signs of use and surface oxidation. The 1967 receipt is folded and exhibits age-related discolouration and minor creasing.
