Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

An Art Deco fall-front cabinet, likely intended for use as a cocktail cabinet or bureau, dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1930-1940. This one-piece unit is finished in highly figured bird’s-eye maple veneers throughout, displaying a characteristic wavy grain pattern and warm honey-coloured tone. The design features a streamlined form with waterfall rounded top edges and stands on a recessed stepped plinth base. The single fall-front door is supported by hinges at the top edge and opens downwards. It is centrally fitted with a circular metal pull handle featuring a relief-patterned design. While no maker’s marks are visible, the piece is characteristic of British furniture manufacture of the period and is in the style of makers such as Emanuel Furniture.

Condition report:

The cabinet is in good overall condition with a well-maintained polished finish. There are minor surface scuffs and signs of wear consistent with age and domestic use. No structural damage or significant repairs are apparent.
