Lot 717: A Late 20th Century Solid Pine Blanket Chest
A large storage trunk or blanket chest of solid pine construction with a waxed finish. The piece is designed in a traditional country style, featuring a rectangular hinged lid with a bullnose edge. The main carcase is of simple box construction and rests on a decorative scalloped plinth base. The timber displays characteristic natural knots and a prominent grain throughout. No external handles or escutcheons are visible on the front or sides of the piece.
Condition report:
The chest is in sound structural condition but shows signs of previous domestic use. There are several visible surface scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations to the top of the lid.
