An early 20th-century folding card or bridge table. The frame and legs are constructed from a dark-stained hardwood. The base features a folding X-frame design with decoratively shaped S-curved legs joined by a central pivoting mechanism. The top is currently draped with a decorative cream-coloured textile featuring intricate embroidered and lace-work patterns. The underlying tabletop surface is obscured but traditionally would consist of a wooden panel often inset with baize. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible.
Condition report:
The table displays signs of age and use. There is visible wear to the wood finish, including scuffs and scratches on the legs and frame. The textile cover appears aged with some discolouration and may require cleaning. The folding mechanism is intact and functional.
